  • The SPS Admissions process for Preschool – Grade 8 begins by making an appointment with SPS Principal, Sister Geri Marr, S.C., for a pre-registration meeting and school tour. You can make the appointment by calling 412-928-2742, ext. 4 or by emailing us. Registration requirements are listed below by grade level, and enrollment applications can be found to the right.

    Preschool (3-year-olds)

    • Students must be 3 years of age by September 1 of enrolling year
    • Available Sessions:
      • Morning:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:15 A.M.- 10:45 A.M.
      • Afternoon:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
    • The following materials must return with the completed application:
      • A copy of the student’s birth certificate
      • A $50 non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee
     

    Pre-K (4-year-olds)

    • Students must be 4 years of age by September 1 of enrolling year
    • Available Sessions:
      • Half Day:  Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,  8:15 A.M.-10:45 A.M.
      • Full Day:   Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,  8:15 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
      • Full Day with Extended Day Option (for an additional fee):  
        • Drop off at 7:45 A.M. and pick up through 6 P.M.
        • Available to Full Day Students Only
    • The following materials must return with the completed application:
      • A copy of the student’s birth certificate
      • A $50 non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee
     

    Kindergarten

    • Students must be 5 years of age by September 1 of enrolling year to apply
    • Available Sessions:
      • Morning Kindergarten
      • Full-Day Kindergarten
      • Full-Day Kindergarten with Extended Day available till 6 P.M. (for an additional fee)
    • The following materials must return with the completed application:
      • Copy of child’s birth certificate
      • Copy of child's baptismal certificate, even if baptized at St. Philip Church
      • Copy of immunization record as complete up to the day of registration
      • Completed St. Philip School Health History Form
      • Signed Pittsburgh Diocese Catholic School Parents Memorandum of Understanding
      • Completed School Physical Examination Form
      • Completed Dental Examination Form
      • A $50 non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee
     

    Transfer students enrolling in Grades 1-8

    The following materials must return with the completed application:

    • Copy of child’s birth certificate
    • Recent copy of report cards and achievement test scores
    • Copy of child's baptismal certificate, even if baptized at St. Philip Church
    • Copy of immunization record as complete up to the day of registration
    • Completed St. Philip School Health History Form
    • Signed Pittsburgh Diocese Catholic School Parents Memorandum of Understanding
    • Completed School Physical Examination Form
    • Completed Dental Examination Form
    • A $50 non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee
