The SPS Religion curriculum utilizes Sadlier’s acclaimed Catholic Identity Edition catechetical textbook series for Grades K–8. These textbooks offer quality catechesis and sacramental preparation materials that faithfully present the teachings of the Catholic Church.  Moreover, SPS enhances its Religion curriculum through various faith-formation initiatives that have been recognized on a national level.

Highlights of the Curriculum include:

• Daily religion class
• Monthly all-school liturgies
• Full preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation
• Catholic Vision of Love taught in Middle School
• Formal and informal prayer, such as Shadow Stations of the Cross and Living Rosaries
• Student opportunities to serve in ministerial roles including: lectors, cantors, class mass leaders, altar servers, bell ringers, singers, instrumentalists, and liturgical dancers
• Individual grade masses twice yearly
• ACRE testing (Assessing Catholic Religious Education) in Grades 5 & 8
