Learning Support
  • Student Assistance Program (SAP)

The overarching goal of SAP is to remove barriers to education so that a student may achieve academic success.  If an SPS teacher observes that a child is struggling, the child may be recommended for independent testing by his/her school district.  The  prescribed adaptations and accommodations are followed by each teacher to ensure success. Teachers also meet with parents to discuss action plans and achieve consistency between home and school environments.

    Morning Math Help

Our Middle School Math teachers regularly offer free early morning Math Help sessions open to all of their students in Grades 6-8. Teachers have found that both students who are struggling with a particular concept, as well as those who wish to achieve mastery of the concept, regularly attend.

    Afterschool Tutoring

Select teachers in Grades 1-5 offer afterschool tutoring for individual students. Parents are urged to contact their child’s teacher to learn more about this program.
