• 1st Grade Students' Grades are Weighted as Follows:

Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Health, and Handwriting will appear on report cards as S for Satisfactory or NI for Needs Improvement.  NI is indicated by a 74% or below.

Religion and Spelling grades are computed by the total earned points divided by the total possible points.

Math, Reading, and English (also known as Grammar or Language Arts) classes are weighted.

The reason behind this is because we may do something in class that is worth twenty points, but the reading weekly assessment may only be worth fifteen points. That one classwork should not count for more than a test.

These categories are how grades are decided:

    Math:

Classwork/Homework is worth 30% of the final grade

Other (Simple Solutions packets we do) are worth 30% of the final grade

Tests are worth 30%, and Skills Tests (these will be the timed facts tests we will begin later on) will be worth 10% of their final grades.

    Reading:

Classwork/ Homework/ Other Misc. Projects (will appear as Other on Option C) are worth 40%

    Tests are worth 30%

Vocabulary (being able to read their High Frequency Words to me on Fridays, being able to use the Oral Vocabulary words we do in class, and completing vocabulary classwork and word of the day pages) is worth 30%

    English:

Classwork/Homework is worth 30% of the final grade

Writing Assignments are worth 30% of the final grade

    Tests are worth 40%
